Hello!!!
My name is Shannon Helms and I am the Owner/Designer/Creator of Cakin' Care of Business®, LLC. I began this sweet journey in San Diego, CA in January 1999 when a friend of mine was a cake decorating instructor with Wilton at a local Michael's store. She had two ladies that wanted to take the cake decorating classes together, but she had to postpone a couple of times because she didn't have the required three students to hold the class. Here's where I come in...she asked me if I would be a student for the night so that she could continue with the scheduled class and even offered to pay my class tuition, which I declined. Well, I had no idea that I had a creative or artistic bone in my body until I filled that seat with zero expectations! Immediately following that class, I bought every cake decorating tip and tool I could find and went to work! Cakin' Care of Business was established in 2009, and to this day, I am STILL honing my craft and learning new techniques to offer the best, tastiest ways to celebrate any occasion, including custom cookie printing and edible image printing to make every dessert special.
I live in Nebraska on the family ranch my husband, Bryan, grew up on. I am a stay-at-home mom to two beautiful kiddos. Our daughter, Savannah, was born in November of 2018 and our son, Sterling, was born in January of 2021.
When I'm not baking and creating tasty things, I love to read, ride my horse, and spend time with my family. We are very active in our church, and I thank God every day that I get the chance to spread joy and happiness to others with the gift that he has given me!
